Web 2.0 is a concept that absolutely fascinates me. Before two days ago, I had never even heard of the concept of web 2.0. All the great new features like Google and Wikipedia that I have been using daily for the past year and a half I thought were a result of new levels of creativity and applying the basic formats of the same old internet in new ways. Never did I imagine that the internet was being practically reinvented, from both the business side as well as the software side.
The idea I was most excited about is that these new applications are developed during the internet age. Web 1.0 was the during the forthcoming of the internet. People were just starting to get used to the idea of the world wide web, and were growing accustomed to it. Once we became familiar with it, we were able to think of new ways to take advantage of everything it really has to offer. I am very aware that this is classic innovation, just building off of previous knowledge. But I have never thought of the evolution of the internet that way, and it really is just getting me excited about where we will be in the next 10 years.
How much will the internet evolve in this upcoming decade? I don't know, but I can't wait to find out.
